While using this guide for training, use the test server:
https://staff-rclsnytest.bywatersolutions.com
1.) Each staff member will have a unique login. Currently, for the test server, local accounts are formed as: LIBRARY CODE.FIRST INITIAL.LAST NAME (e.g., VCL.S.ANTONUCCI), but libraries with @rcls.org emails will eventually use single sign-on (SSO) for authentication.
Logging in with SSO (not available on the test server):
- Click the button that reads
- If you are logged in to your MS365 email in another tab, then you should be taken into Koha after clicking the SSO button.
- If you are not logged in to your MS365 email, clicking the button will take you to the Microsoft login page. Enter your email address and your MS365 password and you will then be logged in to Koha, too.
2.) Temporary passwords will be issued and must be changed to include at least 7 characters, including UPPERCASE, lowercase and numbers (four-digit PINs are no longer possible. Note: PIN requirements are also true for new patron accounts—existing patron accounts will still have their existing four-digit PINs unless or until a patron needs to change the PIN).
3.) Staff working at multiple libraries will have the option to change library location from the “Library” dropdown menu.
