Koha Bootcamp

Task 8

Task: Run the Holds Queue report (formerly known as "Onshelf items" or "pull list")

Holds Queue

A shortcut will be added to the desktop of both reference desk computers for quicker access to the Holds Queue, but you can also find it within the Circulation module.

1.) Refer to the top of the screen for breadcrumb navigation of the various modules and easy access back to the home screen with the () button.

2.) Click Holds queue to begin running the pull list

3.) You can change the Collection dropdown to pick Adult, Children's, or Young Adult collections. For our department, it may be easiest to run the Holds Queue twiceonce for adult materials and once for young adult materials. If you are comfortable with Excel, you could also run the report for "All" collections and then filter out Children's materials using Excel. For now, we will select "Adult." (Note: you can now run the holds queue for ALL collections and export to Excel. Then use the Holds Queue Reformatter (shortcut is available on the desktop of both reference desk computers) to filter and sort and skip steps 5-7 below.)

4.) Click Submit to generate the report.

5.) Click the Columns button to hide unnecessary columns, like: "Send to," "Date," and "Notes."

6.) Click the "Call number" column to simultaneously sort the report by shelving location and call number.

7.) Click Export to print the report directly from the web browser, or you could export the report to Excel for additional formatting (e.g., rearranging column order) or filtering. See below for an example of how the report looks when printed directly from the web browser:
