Task: From a patron's record, use the feature to place a hold for the patron.

1.) After searching for the patron, clicking their name or library card number within the search results to open their record (or simply scanning their card), you can then click the button toward the top of the screen to then perform an advanced search for an item while retaining the patron's information. Click Search to hold and perform an advanced search for any author or title.

2.) Within the search results, you can see a new link added between Holds and Add to cart in the brief bib record—Place hold for [patron's name]. Clicking this link will take you directly to the hold placement screen, which will allow you to place a title or copy-level hold without having to look up the patron's information again.

Task: Use the Add to cart feature to place multiple title level holds for a patron at once.

If a patron would like to place multiple items on hold, requiring multiple searches, you can add the items to a cart for temporary storage (much like an online shopping cart).

1.) If there are multiple items within a single search result that the patron would like to place on hold, you can use the checkboxes in the column between the cover image and the brief item details column to select the titles. Once the corresponding boxes are checked, click

2.) Alternatively, if there is only one item that the patron would like to add to a cart within the search results, then click the Add to cart link instead.

3.) The cart can be found in the header bar () for review and eventual hold placement. Continue searching and adding items to the cart until you have 3-5 items, and then click the cart for review.

4.) Once you click the cart in the header bar, a pop-up window will open allowing you to review the cart. You could now remove items from the list, or click Select all.

5.) Once the items are selected, you can then click Place hold to search for the patron and place multiple title level holds at once.

6.) If the patron does not want to place the items on hold today, you can Print the list of items in the cart here, or Send it to them via email.
