Task 16
Task: you cannot locate an item on the shelf or on a reshelving cart, so time to mark the item (i.e., any item) missing!
Marking an item missing
Search for the item and click the item's title within the search results to open the detailed item record:
1.) Click the item's barcode to open the item details screen for our copy of the item (remember: clicking "Items" in the side menu will display item details for every copy in the system).
2.) Under the Statuses section, use the dropdown menu for Lost Status to select "Missing"
3.) Click the yellow button
4.) When you return to the detailed item record, you can see in the Status column that the item's status is now set as Missing.
5.) In the Location column of search results, you can also see that we have 1 unavailable copy and that our copy is (Missing).
Note: If the item is eventually found, follow steps 1-3 above, but from the item details screen, change the Lost Status dropdown menu back to the undefined "Choose" option.
