In a YouthList meeting, one member wondered if there was a better way to communicate new and exciting children’s and young adult literature and to share the work among libraries so everyone did not have to recreate work each is already doing. The idea was born to create playlists of video book talks for various audiences on the RCLS Youtube Channel. Librarians in member public libraries would contribute to the playlist thus amassing a good number of book talks for the young people of Orange, Rockland, and Sullivan counties. Book talks can also be used by school librarians and teachers.
After a year of successfully making video content for children and youth programs, we know our member libraries are pros. Please consider sharing your book talks with us! If you have an questions or need additional information, please contact RCLS Youth Services.
