RCLS: ILS Services: New in Koha 24.11
Upgrade Info
Our Koha server is scheduled to receive the 24.11 upgrade during the first week of March. This upgrade will happen overnight and will incur no downtime. While the full list of changes and release notes is freely available, this section is to highlight the changes that are most likely to affect our daily routines.
Restrictions and Expiration appears in Patron Quick Search
Expired patrons or patrons with restrictions now appear with little badges in patron quick results:
Add Remember Confirm Option to Circulation Warnings
Koha 24.11 offers an option to remember override confirmations when checking out multiple items. While acting on a patron, if the same checkout confirmation message keeps appearing the user can now select to remember their confirmation while they are still working on that patron.
This is useful when checking out multiple items to a patron that have a Not For Loan status, or when overriding an item type checkout limit.
Pre-select items with due date today
This enhancement selects items that are due today on the patron checkout and details screens, allowing librarians to renew items due today without additional clicks.
(Note that items will not be pre-checked if they are already scheduled for automatic renewal)
Provide link to patron account when checking out to statistical patron ends checkout
If an item is checked out to a patron when it is scanned into one of the statistical user accounts (BLVSTAT, MFLSTAT, etc.), the resulting message will now link to the original patron account.
Add author, publication data, and shelving location columns to the holds queue
Previously, author and publication data were grouped together in the title column and shelving location did not appear at all. These now populate in the Holds Queue table.

Patron Messaging Preferences Reordered
Notices are now ordered to reflect the way they would be sent to the patron rather than alphabetically

NEW:
Create a shareable link from Item Search
Adds a 'Copy shareable link' button to item search results in the staff interface, making it much easier to share search results with fellow staff members.
Add table settings to Item Search results
Unlike other tables, Item Search lacked the table configuration cog wheel—until now! This allows you to display only the columns you want in Item Search.
Item Search Exports to EXCEL/.ODS
In addition to the (situational) barcode file and the (near useless) CSV option, Item Search results are now exportable as a true spreadsheet. Among many many many other uses, this now makes it much easier to use Item Search as a weeding tool.
Remember Table Column Options per Session
Some tables will now remember your column options throughout a single session. The checkout table, the holds queue, and the patron tables are some examples of tables that will save your column preferences. Notably, the holdings table and Item Search do not hold your column preferences.
Columns will reset to default layout when you log out and log back in.
