Alexander's Review:
The Fellowship of the Ring is the first book in the Lord of the Rings series, written by J.R.R. Tolkien. It can be read as a sequel to the Hobbit, or it can be read on its own, but a few things may not make complete sense if you do not have basic knowledge of the events of The Hobbit. The Fellowship of the Ring follows the story of Frodo, a young hobbit who was gifted a magical and dangerous ring, and now he must figure out how to deal with it without dying. As Frodo sets out from his home in the Shire, with a few friends, he encounters other characters such as a ranger called Strider, who eventually introduces himself as Aragorn, an elf named Legolas, and a dwarf named Gimli. The book has a great story, with interesting fleshed-out characters. The only complaint that I have with this book, is that there were a lot of details presented to the reader, so it is easy to be overwhelmed depending on your reading style. But no matter my grievances on the book, I would recommend reading it, because not only is it one of the classics, but it is also just a really good story.
