Information about the Town of Warwick's celebration of the nation's 250th Anniversary

 

The notes from the meetings on are linked below.  Meeting are held quarterly at the Town of Warwick Senior Center, King's Highway, at 6:30 PM.  All Town of Warwick residents are welcome to attend.

2025 Committee Meetings:  Feb. 4; May 6; Aug 5; Nov 18

Upcoming 2025 Commemorative Events: 

  • April 19  4PM 250th of Lexington & Concord, Ceremony for Col. John Cowdrey, Warwick Cemetery
  • May 18  2-7 PM Founders' Day @ John Hathorn Home/Old Stone House Inn (on the lawn); living history activities followed at 6 by a return visit from the Baroness von Riedesel as she recalls the march of the captured army of Burgoyne through our area.
  • July 22nd  6:30 PM Annual reading of Hathorn's Battle of Minisink report, Warwick Cemetery

Tentative 2026 Town & Organization Commemorative Events:

  • Great Chain & Forge Day at Sterling Forest State Park (Sue will contact Park officials and work in collaboration with the Friends of Sterling Forest.
  • May 17: Annual Founders’ Day at the Gen. John Hathorn historic site, living history demonstrations and “Regimental Reunion” of descendants of local Revolutionary War veterans.
  • July 4:  Official Town of Warwick USA@250 Parade and celebration, 10 AM Village of Warwick, followed by community gathering/activity at Memorial Park.
  • July 4:  Fireworks at Greenwood Lake
  • July 22:  Battle of Minisink Commemoration, 6:30 PM Annual reading of Hathorn's Battle of Minisink report, Warwick Cemetery
