Board Governance: Recruitment

Board Governance: Recruitment (July 7, 2020)
Susan Weinrich, Vice President of Organizational and Community Development, New York Council of Nonprofits

Board leadership and engagement isn’t happened upon through luck, nor is it something to be taken for granted. Board building should be an ongoing process with year-round activities and clear strategic goals. This session explores board recruitment, engagement, assessment, and strategies.  Learn to identify and recognize what motivates board members to excel in their roles.

Advocacy

The RCLS Government Relations Specialist spearheads the Advocacy efforts of our System.  There are multiple opportunities throughout the course of each year to promote the field of librarianship and your library in particular.

Each year, libraries across the state come together and advocate in Albany for a multitude of legislative changes or updates. As part of that event, library advocates take the time to thank our library champions who hold seats in the House and Assembly.

Please refer to the Awareness & Advocacy LibGuide on our website for training videos and additional information.  Contact Jen Park via phone at (845) 243-3747 to learn more!
