Outdoor Movies

For libraries using Swank Movie License

We were able to confirm that the outdoor exception will be available for all of 2021. We recently added the list of movies and form for approval to the website to make it easier to access and review, and are working on adding a link to the library page of the website in the near future. Below are the guidelines and links for the outdoor exception:

  • An outdoor showing exception to the license is added so that libraries can engage patrons in a more socially distant environment!
    • Outdoor Exception for Public Libraries: (This exception has been confirmed for all of 2021)
    • The list of pre-approved movies (Films for Outdoor Exception) that are eligible for outdoor showings on library property, as long as the event is held to a maximum of 50 cars or 100 attendees.
    • This form (Public Library Outdoor Event Form) needs to be completed to receive permission for the outdoor showing exception and the guidelines will be included in that form.
    • Please email the completed form to libraries@swankmp.com, we will reply with approval. As long as the guidelines are followed, outdoor showings will be included as part of the license coverage.
    •  If the showing does not meet those requirements, or is off library property, please contact Swank Motion Pictures at 800.876.5577 for the standard outdoor license pricing
