MFL's Year of the Arts is a themed series of programs and services beginning in July of 2022 and continuing through June 2023. Each month, the library will focus on different art, beginning with Dance. The Year of the Arts aims to provide a venue for our community to interact with the arts and to spark and support new artists.
Each art will be fully supported each month. We will provide a venue for a program, exhibition, or performance given by a professional artist. These are the programs on our event calendar! We will follow that with a "how to" or "first steps" resources that lets you dip your toes into the chosen art. This includes an informational package that joins our books, databases, and free online resources into a cohesive collection that will foster art appreciation and creation. That's this guide, which you are reading currently!
Use the tabs above to navigate each month's art!
Monroe Free Library programs are open to current library card holders in the Ramapo-Catskill Library System. You can register for our events online at www.monroefreelibrary.org/events. Year of the Arts events are dressed in black tie elegance, so they're easy to spot on the calendar! Take a look!
