Local History/Newburgh Free Library: Local History Room Schedule
Local History Room Schedule
The Newburgh Free Library has implemented adjusted hours, including select Saturdays for the Local History Room. Please note that the Local History Resource Center also offers evening hours for your convenience.
Please be aware that the Local History Librarian may experience schedule changes without prior notice due to service commitments at public reference desks. To ensure your visit aligns with our availability, it's advisable to call ahead at 845-563-3617 and make an appointment.
Before planning your visit or reaching out, kindly take note of the following guidelines:
- Photocopying Policy: Patrons are permitted to copy articles from the information files, with a charge of 10 cents per black & white photocopied page and 50 cents per color copied page. Additional fees apply for oversized items, as well as for emailed, mailed, or faxed items. Please provide your contact information when requesting these services.
- Restrictions on Rare Reference Materials: To preserve irreplaceable books, periodicals, maps, and photographs, patrons are prohibited from photocopying these rare reference materials. If copying is of utmost importance, staff assistance may be available during your visit. If we cannot assist you on-site, please provide detailed information about the item you need copied, including title, author, call number, and page numbers. Postage fees will apply.
For any inquiries or further assistance, please feel free to contact Local History Librarian Heather H. Georghiou via email at hhgeo@rcls.org or call her directly at 845-563-3617. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation, and we look forward to assisting you with your local history inquiries.
