The Community Closet and Tech Trading Post are two collections of unique and unexpected items that you may borrow the library providing access to a greater variety of shared resources.

How to borrow a gadget

Gadgets may be borrowed by cardholders over the age of 18 years. 

1) You may place a hold on a gadget by clicking on the link in each item's description above). If the item is checked out, you will receive notice (phone, text or email depending on your selected preferences) once it is available to check out. 

2) Ask at the Information Desk. If the item is checked in, you may borrow it right away. 

Returning your gadget

All items borrowed from the Community Closet, Tech Trading Post must be returned ONLY to the Valley Cottage Library. 

Gadgets should be brought directly to the Information Desk for return. A librarian will check the item to make sure all of the pieces are present and will then check it in off of your account. 

Do not return any gadgets in the bookdrop -- although we're pretty sure most wouldn't fit in there anyway!
