Virtual Farm and Victory Garden Talk: Home

A companion and resource for Valley Cottage Library's presentation by Tony Bracco.

The Purpose of this Guide

victory gardenPresented by Tony Bracco of Bracco Farms.

Due to the current overwhelming public interest in backyard gardens we have now geared our talks to mostly focus on the Victory Garden model, which was so successful during both world wars.

Tony shared an incredible amount of information and this guide serves as a way to organize and share his resource materials.

Tony's talk focused on:

1. Siting the garden

2. Soil preparation including fertilizing and watering

3. Crops to grow – vegetables and herbs, annuals and perennials

4. Tools to use and where to source them

5. Safe Seed Sources

6. Extending the Season to enjoy your garden longer

Through our “Victory Garden” talks we will share our experience and hopefully help answer many of your questions so you too can experience the joy, satisfaction and security of growing your own food.
