One hundred techniques and practices are described here--some are well known; some you may have never heard of. They range from clean energy to educating girls in lower-income countries to land use practices that pull carbon out of the air. The solutions exist, are economically viable, and communities throughout the world are currently enacting them with skill and determination. If deployed collectively on a global scale over the next thirty years, they represent a credible path forward, not just to slow the earth's warming but to reach drawdown, that point in time when greenhouse gases in the atmosphere peak and begin to decline. These measures promise cascading benefits to human health, security, prosperity, and well-being--giving us every reason to see this planetary crisis as an opportunity to create a just and livable world.

2022 Urban Libraries Trauma Study
- Urban Library Trauma Study byISBN: 9798218020156Publication Date: 2022-06-21The Urban Library Trauma Study: Final Report presents the findings and recommendations of the Urban Library Trauma Study, a two year look into the issues of primary and secondary trauma in urban public librarians. This forum was a practical design sprint with the intent of discovering workable solutions to the issues that create trauma for urban public library workers. Sources of trauma included patrons, leadership, colleagues, systemic imbalances of power, and safety. Recommendations are made for national mental health support options for library workers, trauma informed library policies, and standards for healthy library workplaces. The study took place during COVID-19 and the pandemic plays a major part in the discussion of trauma in library work especially in regards to job instability, institutional disparities between professional and paraprofessional staff, and security for library workers.
