Slang Word of the Decade
- Chillax: This early 2000 slang word combines two terms – chill and relax. Even though both words have similar meanings, it doesn’t impact the coolness of this term
- Sick: Now we use the word sick to define illness or unhealthy feelings. In the 00s, youth used it to explain something awesome and cool. For example
- Sketchy: In the 00s, teenagers used this word to describe someone or something suspicious and not trustworthy
- Dawg: Another word you can use when talking to your friend. It describes someone you enjoy talking to and spending time with
- Peeps: As you probably noticed, people liked to shorten words in the 2000s. And this is another example – peeps is the short form of the word people.
- ‘Rents: If you were a teenager back in the 2000s, you probably knew this term. It is a cute and short form of the word parents
