Fiction
- Carr, LaurenceLaurence Carr is a writer of plays, fiction and poetry. His volume of fiction, Pancake Hollow Primer, is published by Codhill Press, who also published his micro-fiction book, The Wytheport Tales . He is the editor of Riverine and the co-editor of WaterWrites. Laurence teaches Dramatic and Creative Writing at SUNY, New Paltz.
- Neiderman, AndrewProlific writer Andrew Neiderman made Fallsburg his home at an early age. After graduating with his Master's Degree in English and teaching for over two decades with the Fallsburg High School he decided that his true vocation was that of a writer. He now lives in California and is the author of eighty-six published novels, two produced screenplays and one collection of one-act plays. He is the ghostwriter behind the worldwide V.C. Andrews franchise which by now has published over one hundred and five million books in ninety-five countries and twenty-two languages.
- Olear, GregFounding editor of THE WEEKLINGS and author of the novels TOTALLY KILLER (Harper, 2009 and Gallmeister, 2011) and FATHERMUCKER (Harper, 2011)
- Thomas, PatrickWith more than twenty books, one hundred and fifty published short stories and a satirical advice column under his belt, Sullivan County author Patrick Thomas has accomplished much in the literary world. He has authored the popular fantasy humor series Murphy's Lore (which includes 8 books) as well as the After Hours spin offs "Fairy With A Gun", "Dead To Rites" and "Lore & Dysorder". His Mystic Investigators series has grown to include the books "Bullets & Brimstone" and "From The Shadows" both with John L. French and "Once More Upon A Time" and "Partners In Crime" both with Diane Raetz.
Nonfiction
- Fletcher, TonyTony Fletcher is the author of seven non-fiction books and one novel. His biography of drummer Keith Moon has been named in many a Best Music Book list, and his biography of R.E.M., updated in 2013 as 'Perfect Circle,' has been published in over half a dozen countries.
- Fried, MarcMarc B. Fried is the author of five earlier books on Shawangunk region history and natural history. His small farm is just south of New Paltz, and the cabin he built high in the Shawangunk Mountain pine barrens is nearing its 50th year. For the past 9 years, Fried has been a columnist for the Shawangunk Journal. His new work condenses the best of these columns into a book that bears the column's title: Notes from the Other Side.
- O'Biso, CarolCarol O'Biso began her career in the museum profession and, as the Chief Registrar of the American Federation of Arts, was sent to New Zealand to organize an exhibition of Maori art. The exhibition opened at the Metropolitan Museum and the culture-clash experience that followed became the basis of her first book, First Light. Now a free-lance writer and editor, Carol’s second book, A Well-Seasoned Life: A Daughter Tales From Her Father’s Kitchen, was released in October of 2011.
- Pritchard, EvanEvan Pritchard, a descendant of the Micmac people (part of the Algonquin nations) is the founder of The Center for Algonquin Culture, and is currently Professor of Native American history at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York, where he also teaches ethics and philosophy.
He is the author of several books including: Native New Yorkers, The Legacy of the Algonquin People of New York and Bird Medicine .
He is also the author of the widely praised No Word For Time, the Way of the Algonquin People, and many other books, including an Algonkian language series. - Regholec, CamilleCamille Regholec is a pastor and a part time library clerk at Ellenville and Liberty Libraries. She loves writing inspirational stories. She is the published author of numerous articles in various publications and the latest was a true story in Chicken Soup for the Soul: Messages from Heaven and Other Messages (2019). She also has published a historical fiction, Look on the Heart; a memoir, Relish the Garnishes; a children’s picture book, The Elephant that Forgot to Remember. Another historical fiction, The Secret Way to the Heart, is due to be released in early 2020. She has lived in the Town of Mamakating, Sullivan County, since 1983. She is married to Gerold and has four children, ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
- Rhoads, William B.William B. Rhoads’, professor emeritus of Art History (SUNY New Paltz), teachings and writing focus on American art and architecture. His work includes two books on Kingston’s architecture with the most recent being “Ulster County, New York: The Architectural History & Guide”.
- Schenkman, AdamA.J. Schenkman teaches history in the Lower Hudson Valley and writes about the history of Ulster and Orange counties. Including a new book with co-author Elizabeth Werlau Murder and Mayhem in Ulster County.(History Press,August 2013) He also writes a monthly column for the Shawangunk Journal and is the author of Wicked Ulster County: Tales of Desperadoes, Gangs & More (History Press, 2012).
- Werlau, ElizabethElizabeth Werlau is the author of several books and articles focusing on the history of New York State's historic Hudson Valley region.
Children's and Young Adult
- Davis, JackyJacky Davis writes children's books along with her husband David Soman.
