In response to the COVID-19 pandemic emergency, Valley Cottage Library is CLOSED until further notice. 

However, we are offering fantastic virtual programs through Zoom, Google Meet, and Facebook. 


  • Registration is required for all programs and group size is limited.

  • Using the CHILD's name, register by clicking the calendar links.

  • For virtual programs, a link will be emailed to you shortly before the program. 


Page Turners Adventures

Page Turner Adventures is Valley Cottage Library's Summer 2020 virtual children's programming provider! 
We will post exciting activities every weekday from June 15 - August 21 at around 11 AM, so check back often!


Once you register using your CHILD's NAME, you will be invited via email to join our private Facebook group to view virtual programs anytime that's convenient for you. Virtual programs will remain posted all summer to view anytime. If you don't see an email within one day of registering, please check your spam folder. Be sure you use the email you have associated with a FACEBOOK account. 

Here are the activities for each day, with a different theme each week within our summer theme of "Imagine Your Story!"

MondaySHOW DAY – Every Monday, we’ll present a different Virtual Comedy Story Theater show.

TuesdayPROJECT DAY – We’ll do crafts, games, recipes, games, science experiments, and activities. We'll post materials for you to gather at home prior to the program.

WednesdayAUTHOR & ILLUSTRATOR DAY –  Get ready for fun interviews and activities with some of the most amazing authors and illustrators in the business. In addition to the interview, we’ll also have read-alongs, activities, trivia games, and book giveaways.  

Thursday: Tween DAY – You’ll get crafts and activities for upper elementary and middle school kids. 

Friday: SPECIAL GUEST DAY: Each week, you’ll get a bonus show with another amazing performer! These include Ringling Clowns, world-renowned magicians, Grammy Winning Singers, ventriloquists, puppeteers, and pirates. We’ll also “visit” exciting places like zoos, science museums, and the International Clown Hall of Fame.

Virtual Programs

Summer Program descriptions are below. To register,  please use the calendar above! 

Registered families will receive a meeting code with an invitation on the day of the program for Zoom and Google Meet programs. 

BINGO : Wednesdays at 2PM on 6/3, 6/17, 7/1, 7/15, 7/29, 8/12, and 8/26 for ages 5 and up. Virtual BINGO with virtual BINGO cards!

Outdoor Scavenger Hunt: Wednesdays at 2PM on 6/10, 7/8, and 8/5 for ages 5 and up. Ms. Danielle will give you clues and a time limit to see how many things you can find in your yard!

What's That Sound? Game : Wednesday June 24 at 2PM for ages 5 and up.
Ms. Danielle will give you play a sound and you will have to guess what it is!

Storyteller Guessing Game: Wednesday July 22 at 2PM for ages 5 and up.
Ms. Danielle will start a story and then everyone will have a chance to add to the story. Let's see what silly stories we can create!

Mindful Movement : Thursday July 23 at 2PM for ages 4-7 years.
Join Ms. Danielle virtually for fun movement and breathing techniques along with calming music. Children should wear comfortable clothes.

Draw It Game: Wednesday August 19 at 2PM for ages 5 and up.
Ms. Danielle will give everyone a chance to draw an animal while the other participants try and guess what it is!

LEGO™Challenge! Mondays from June 22 - Aug. 10 for Ages 5 and up. Please email results to Are you looking for something fun to do? Are you up for a LEGO™ challenge? Register for this program and receive a new challenge by email every Monday. Create at your own pace and share your results with us by Friday of that same week.

Preschool Playtime! Tuesdays at 10:30 AM from July 7 - Aug. 4 for ages 2-5 years.
​Join us live weekly for fun Zoom games like: mini scavenger hunts, guessing games, show and tell, fingerplays, songs, and more!

Virtual Family Book Club! During June: For children in Grades K-5 and their families. Here’s a spin on our library book clubs! Read the book, Beezus and Ramona, by Beverly Cleary, at home as a family. Each week Ms. Danielle will email participants an activity and trivia question for the week. Send back your answers and then, after the library reopens, come to the library to receive a special prize. An email with a reading schedule will be sent to all participants by May 25. The book is available on Overdrive and Hoopla.

Reading Adventures: Mondays 6/22, 7/6, 7/20, and 8/3 at 2PM. For Children going into Grades 1-3. Ms. Danielle will read a picture book, then we will talk about it and draw pictures from the book! Please make sure you have paper and a pencil or crayons to draw with.

Reading Adventures: Mondays 6/29, 7/13 and 8/10 at 2PM For Children going into Grades 4-6. Join Ms. Danielle for a virtual twist on Monday Book Club! Parents will receive a meeting code with an invitation to join the book club through Zoom on the day of the program. At 2PM, join the meeting and Ms. Danielle will let you know what books she has been reading and you will share with the group what you are reading. Get great book recommendations all summer long!

  • Please notify us of cancellations in order to allow more children to attend our programs. Wait-listed patrons will be contacted only if there is room in the program.

  • Programs are free and are designed for the intended age group.

  • Please note, registration requires an active email account. The program will send a confirmation and reminder to your email. Please check your SPAM folder or contact the library if you do not see a confirmation or reminder email.
