Currently, Library Patrons are permitted up to 60 minutes usage per day. Appointments are not needed, however, please see staff for a computer reservation.

Guest cards may be given to patrons showing valid ID. Guests are permitted one use per day. NO EXCEPTIONS.

 All patrons are allotted $.30 per day for printing.  Thereafter, the prices are as follows:               

B&W:  $.15 per page

Color:  $.25 per page

 A Bookscan station is available to all patrons.  This station will scan and convert books into PDF, Word or Excel files and automatically store them to your USB drive.* You may also scan an item and send it to email, Google Docs, or your SmartPhone (with a QR Reader app). 

***Faxing on the Bookscan Station is currently unavailable.***

In addition, you may now fax from the Bookscan Station.  The price is $2.00 for the first four pages, .50¢ for each page thereafter. A cover sheet will automatically be generated for you at no cost. Confirmations will be sent to the email you supply. (Faxing available to United States and Canada only.) A library card is not required for faxing.

*You must supply the USB drive, due to privacy issues we cannot provide one for you.

WiFi access is available throughout the library for those patrons with wireless devices such as laptops, tablets, SmartPhones, etc. ***Study rooms and tables are not currently available.***

THE COMPUTER LAB IS CURRENTLY CLOSED. IT WILL BE OPEN FOR WORKSHOPS ONLY WHEN THE LIBRARY RESUMES NORMAL OPERATIONS.

Established in February 2002, the Robert H. Finkelstein Technology Center helps bridge the digital divide by providing information literacy and computer skills to FML patrons within the East Ramapo Central School District and the community-at-large.  It is responsible for Information Technology Management, Training, and Support Services. 

Here at the Tech Center, we provide technical assistance, support, and various educational services for both patrons and all staff members.  The department continues to maintain existing technology while exploring innovative ideas, and new found technology apparatus. 

The Technology Center has 18 computers within its enclosed ‘classroom’ area, with 57 computers located directly outside of the center and available all day long.  These machines are equipped with  Windows 10 or Mac Maverick operating systems and software provided by Microsoft Windows Accessories:  Calculator, Notepad, Paint, WordPad, etc.  Other software available for use:  Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Word), Internet Explorer, and Photoshop.  These systems also provide access to the Library’s electronic resources (online magazines and reference databases), eBooks, etc.

The use of another patron’s library card will result in the suspension of library internet privileges for all parties involved. 

You must have your library card present to access the computers.  All patrons who cannot present their library card and ID upon request will be asked to log off the computer immediately. 

If you forget or lose your library card, Technology Center staff cannot access or retrieve your barcode number.  Please continue to the Circulation Desk on the first floor with proper picture ID to gain access to your information. 

If you are a visitor to the library, our staff can allow you access to our computers with a guest card. Valid ID must be presented to receive a guest card.

If you are not a member of our library but reside in our district, we can give you a guest pass but encourage you to apply for a library card so that you may take advantage of all the benefits the library has to offer.

The Technology Center has several mobile wi-fi hotspots available for a 2 week loan. 

WiFi hotspots are available only to Finkelstein cardholders 18 years of age and older showing valid ID. Equipment will not be checked out to patrons owing $10.00 or more for overdue, lost, missing or damaged library materials. Equipment is not eligible for Interlibrary Loan. For more information or to fill out WiFi Hotspot Circulation Policy and place a hold, please click the appropriate links below.

• Equipment may be checked out for 2 weeks
• Only 1 Per Household
• At this time, renewals are not allowed
• Overdue fines will be assessed at a rate of $5.00 (five dollars) per day
• If a hotspot is not returned on its due date, it will be turned off and wireless service will be terminated
• If the hotspot is lost, please contact the Library immediately
• If the lost equipment is returned in good condition, the cost for replacement may be waived; however, you will be responsible for any overdue fines incurred
