Freegal and eMusic @HKDPL: eMusic through OverDrive

Can music be burned to a CD?

Publishers set the permissions (digital rights) for each title in your library's collection. Some publishers allow their audio titles to be burned to CDs. To find out if a title can be burned to CD, check its digital rights information.

Each title from your library has a set of 'Use On' icons. The 'Burn to CD' icon will be greyed out if this permission has not been granted.

Alternatively, you can find 'Digital Rights Information' on a title's details page:

If you have already downloaded an audio title to OverDrive Media Console on your computer, you can find the permissions by selecting it, then going to Properties > License from the menu bar.

Burning CDs

Open OMC.

Select a title and click "Burn" to open the Burn Wizard.

Insert a blank CD into the CD drive on your computer.

Click Next.

When the Burn Wizard finds your drive, the "Confirm" screen is displayed.

Select the part(s) to burn. You will need one CD for each part.

Click Next.

The selected parts are burned to CD.

When the burn is complete, click Finish to close the wizard.
