WanderLust - Costa Rica: Home

Just returned from roaming the national parks of Costa Rica - the birthplace of eco-tourism. A wonderful destination for outdoor enthusiasts, hikers, birders. beach lovers, and families. Costa Rica offers one of the world's most diverse natural landscapes

About Costa Rica

Costa Rica is a small country - slightly smaller than West Virginia and slightly larger than Switzerland.  However, it contains a diversity of terrain and the landscape is spectacular. Costa Rica has dense rain forests, open savanna, mangroves and lush wetlands, and cloud forests covering the tops of volcanoes.  Along both its Atalntic and Pacific coasts there are sandy beaches with offshore islands and some coral reefs. Birds and animals are prolific. There are venues for active sports enthusiasts including scuba diving, sports fishing, white water rafting, zip-lining, and horseback riding.  A wide variety of accomodations are available from luxury resorts to rustic lodges.
